South Korea’s largest law firm Kim & Chang walked away with the lion’s share of the prizes at the ALB Korea Law Awards 2018, winning 12 awards in total. Lee & Ko and Bae, Kim & Lee won five awards apiece.
The sixth edition of the awards, held on Nov. 9 at the Grand Hyatt Seoul, saw Kye Sung Chung of Kim & Chang win the Managing Partner of the Year title. The firm also won the Korea Law Firm of the Year award.
Lee & Ko claimed both the Korea Deal Firm of the Year and Dealmaker of the Year awards, with the latter being won by Sang Gon Kim.
The International Arbitration Law Firm of the Year award was won by Bae, Kim & Lee, while Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton was the winner of the International Deal Firm of the Year title. Yulchon’s Sae Youn Kim was named as the Woman Lawyer of the Year.
In the in-house categories, Mirae Asset Global Investments took the Korea In-House Team of the Year title, while Ho Sung Kang of CJ Group was named In-House Lawyer of the Year.
