Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan has appointed intellectual property litigator York Faulkner as a partner in Tokyo from Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, where he spent more than two decades.

Faulkner has extensive experience in both patent and trade secret litigation. He has handled cases across industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, software, semiconductors and electronics. 

After starting his career as a criminal prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice, Faulkner joined Finnegan in 1996. A large chunk of his career has been spent in Japan, where he garnered experience in litigation involving Japanese parties.
