The ninth edition of the ALB Law Awards, a virtual even held on Dec. 2, showcased the work of the finest lawyers, law firms, and in-house teams in the country.
Kim & Chang won 12 awards, including the prestigious Korea Law Firm of the Year, and Korea Deal Firm of the Year. In the individual categories, the firm also clinched Managing Partner of the Year for Kye Sung Chung, Dealmaker of the Year for Teo Kim, Dispute Resolution Lawyer of the Year for Sungwook Kim, and Woman Lawyer of the Year for Yunjoh Lee.
Meanwhile, Lee & Ko and Bae, Kim & Lee won three titles a piece. While Lee & Ko’s awards included Foreign Lawyer of the Year (for Frank Shyn), Bae, Kim & Lee won Banking and Financial Services Law Firm of the Year award.
Among other awards, Herbert Smith Freehills was named International Arbitration Law Firm of the Year; Simpson Thacher & Bartlett was the winner of Korea Practice Foreign Law Firm of the Year; and Mino Han of Peter & Kim won the title of Young Lawyer of the Year (Law Firm).
In the in-house categories, Mirae Asset Securities was awarded Korea In-House Team of the Year, as well as In-House Lawyer of the Year (for Kang Hyuk Lee). Meanwhile, GSK Korea’s Min Kyung Lee was named Young Lawyer of the Year (In-House).
