Hong Kong's largest law firm Deacons has hired Gillian Lam as a partner in its litigation and dispute resolution department from Baker McKenzie, where she was a senior associate.
Lam, a solicitor advocate who spent her 15-year career at Baker McKenzie, specialises in commercial litigation and international arbitration. Her expertise spans general commercial disputes, shareholders' conflicts, trust and private wealth issues, cyber fraud recovery, and commercial fraud investigations.
The new hire aims to bolster Deacons' capabilities in handling complex disputes and compliance matters for multinational companies, including employment disputes, bribery investigations, and product recalls for well-known brands.
“We are excited to have Gillian joining our dispute resolution team. Her impressive experience in commercial litigation, international arbitration and compliance work, complements and further strengthens our offering to clients in these areas,” said Joseph Kwan, head of the litigation and dispute resolution department at Deacons, in a statement.
With Lam's addition, Deacons now has 181 lawyers, including 52 partners.
