Recently launched Hong Kong boutique law firm Edwin Kwok & Co has significantly bolstered its capital markets and corporate capabilities with the addition of partner Iris Leung, who previously co-led U.S. law firm K&L Gates’ capital markets practice in China.

Leung is a U.S. transactions specialist, advising on a number of landmark and first-of-its-kind transactions in the capital markets and M&A space, such as many of the largest HKIPOs, London and Swiss GDR offerings and U.S.-related fundraising and capital markets transactions, and market-leading M&A and DCM transactions.

Her sectoral experience includes AI/TMT, EV, new energy, insurance, health care, and consumer markets.

“Despite the fact that our firm has only commenced practice in recent months, there is currently a strong pipeline of transactions. Some of them require the support of a strong U.S. team which Iris and her team will be a valuable addition,” the firm’s founder and managing partner Edwin Kwok told ALB.

Before joining K&L Gates, Leung was a partner at Linklaters for five years, where she led the U.S. Practice.

Kwok left U.S. firm O'Melveny & Myers earlier this year to launch his own firm in Hong Kong focused on corporate dealmaking and capital markets. He specialises in public offerings, privatisations and M&A.
