Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy has bolstered its securities offering in Asia with the hire of corporate and capital markets partner David Kuo in Hong Kong.

A registered solicitor in Hong Kong, Kuo represents Chinese companies and international financial institutions on both debt and equity capital markets transactions. He also advises companies on M&A and private equity deals.

Kuo joins Milbank from Allen & Overy, where he was a partner in the firm’s Hong Kong office.

Kuo’s experience will help the firm grow its transactional practices in Asia, said Milbank’s Asia managing partner David Zemans, in a statement.

“Hong Kong is a key destination for work in capital markets, leveraged finance, M&A, corporate restructurings and other transactional areas.”

Milbank has made a push into North Asia in recent months, opening a Foreign Legal Consultant office in Seoul in January.
