Squire Patton Boggs has grown its dispute resolution offering in Singapore with the appointment of Cameron Ford as a partner from mining major Rio Tinto, where he was a senior counsel.

Ford is the firm’s second disputes appointment in the past two months. It recently hired Christopher Bloch as an associate from Singapore International Arbitration Centre.

Ford, a barrister, is also a mediator and an arbitrator on the panels of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the Kuala Lumpur Regional Arbitration Centre and the Beijing Arbitration Commission. At Rio Tinto, he was responsible for managing its global disputes.

Ford’s previous experience includes being a partner at Australian firm Cridland & Hua Lawyers, and in-house stints at National Australia Bank and Downer EDI. 

Peter Chow, who heads Squire Patton Boggs’ international dispute resolution practice in Asia, said: “Cameron and Christopher will add to our already extensive arbitration experience in Singapore and play a key role in expanding our practice.”
