Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas has advised India Ports Global and India’s shipping ministry on a port concession agreement with Iran. 

Iranian law firm Behrooz Akhlaghi acted as Iranian counsel to India Ports Global.

The deal was made pursuant to a government-to-government Memorandum of Understanding between India and Iran for equipping and operating the first phase of Chabahar Shahid-Beheshti port in Iran by India Ports Global.

The project intends to offer India a sea-land access route to Afghanistan bypassing Pakistan, for which India plans to invest $500 million.

The Cyril Amarchand team on the deal was led by Mumbai-based infrastructure and project financing partner Amey Pathak.
