Amman-based Kurdi Law has advised Royal Jordanian Airlines on a $275 million financing provided by a syndicate of eight banks that includes Dubai-headquartered Mashreq Bank, which turned to Dentons for legal counsel.

Mashreq acted as sole bookrunner and mandated lead arranger, along with Al Khalij Commercial Bank, Arab Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank PJSC and The Commercial Bank.

The dual facility consisted of a conventional tranche and an Islamic tranche, based on a wakala arrangement. Denton’s Dubai-based finance partner Neil Cuthbert advised Mashreq alongside Amman managing partner Safwan Moubaydeen.

Meanwhile, managing partner Hani Kurdi oversaw the transaction for Kurdi Law.
