Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF), Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati have advised various investors on a $1 billion investment in Chinese green energy firm Envision Energy International, which was represented by Fangda Partners.

Simpson Thacher counselled China’s Primavera Capital, and  Wilson Sonsini represented U.S. VC fund Sequoia Capital. HSF advised Singapore’s GIC, alongside Appleby, Anderson Mori & Tomotsune, Creel and Junhe.

This deal is considered to be one of the world's largest net-zero investments. Envision, which provides renewable power products and services, works with governments to accelerate energy transition and has committed to carbon neutrality in its operations by 2022 and across its value chain by 2028.

The HSF team was led by partners Calvin Ho, Monica Sun,  Mathias Dantin and Joe Fisher.
