Khaitan & Co has represented Indian sustainable investment firm EverSource Capital and the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund of India (NIIF) on their partnership with the UK government’s CDC Group to invest $330 million in the Ayana Renewable Power platform, which was advised by AZB & Partners.

Ayana was launched to develop utility scale solar and wind generation projects across growth states in India, which is currently planning to build 175 GW of renewable energy capacity. The platform is currently constructing 500MW of solar generation capacity with a reported strong future pipeline of renewable energy opportunities.

The AZB team was led by partners Darshika Kothari, Roxanne Anderson and Kunal Kumbhat.
