White & Case has advised Qatar's Ooredoo on its $6 billion agreement to merge its Indonesian telecom unit with that of Hong Kong's CK Hutchison, which was represented by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

The merged company will be named PT Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison Tbk. According to Reuters, it will become the second largest mobile telecoms company in the country, with an estimated annual revenue of approximately $3 billion.

Partners Jonathan Olier, Michiel Visser, Katarzyna Czapracka and Kristo Molina led the White & Case team while the Freshfields team was led by partners Robert Ashworth, Philip Morgan, Jill Gatehouse, Alastair Mordaunt, Thomas Wessely, Daniel French, Richard Bird and Nick Lingard.
