Japanese law firm Miura & Partners has continued its expansion within Southeast Asia after announcing that it will enter into a strategic alliance with Malaysian law firm Donovan & Ho

The alliance, set to commence in March this year, will establish a "one-stop service" platform in Kuala Lumpur, offering legal, taxation, and accounting services to Japanese companies seeking to conduct mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and other business activities in Malaysia.

Founded in 2014, Donovan & Ho has a team of 12 lawyers, including four partners. They will work closely with Ryoichi Inoue, head partner of Miura's Asia Practice, who has extensive experience in Malaysian M&A transactions. Additionally, Shigenobu Kanao from M&P Asia Corporation will be stationed full-time in Kuala Lumpur to support operations.

The move follows Miura's recent regional expansion, which includes office openings in Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh City in 2023 and 2024 respectively. A Bangkok office also scheduled to open in March.

Founded in 2019, the Tokyo-based Miura & Partners has grown rapidly to over 100 lawyers. The firm operates in partnership with M&P Asia Corporation, its consulting arm established in 2021, focusing on emerging Asian markets.
