Singapore Big Four law firm WongPartnership has launched a sustainability and responsible business practice. The practice will be jointly headed by partners Quak Fi Ling and Tiong Teck Wee.

According to a release from the firm, the practice will bring together work from the firm’s existing practice areas, including corporate and financial services, litigation and dispute resolution, corporate governance, and compliance.

Law firms across the Asia-Pacific region have been placing increasing emphasis on ESG in recent months. In Hong Kong, former Jones Day partner Ben McQuhae set up an ESG-focused firm called Ben McQuhae & Co in February, while another Singapore Big Four firm, Rajah & Tann, launched a sustainability practice for ESG in January.

“ESG issues are reaching a tipping point worldwide,” said WongPartnership in a statement. “Global initiatives such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the Paris Agreement have taken centre stage as the world continues to battle from the effects of climate change.”
