Biography
Ivan obtained his Master of Laws degree at the University of Melbourne, upon completion of his Law Degree from the University of Indonesia. He is fluent in both Indonesian and English. Ivan’s professional experience extends across a number of major firms in Jakarta, a government agency (the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency/IBRA) and a foreign consulting company. He has particular expertise in advising on banking & finance; debt restructuring; mergers & acquisitions; energy & mining; foreign investment; corporate & commercial law; labor, employment & immigration, bankrupty and corporate secretarial work. Ivan is a licensed capital markets lawyer, along with being a receiver & administrator for bankruptcy and a registered consultant for commercial paper transaction at money market. Ivan is an active member of several professional organisations, including the Indonesian Advocates Association (Perhimpunan Advokat Indonesia), Capital Market Legal Consultant Association (Himpunan Konsultan Hukum Pasar Modal), Indonesian Competition Lawyer Association (ICLA), and Indonesian Receiver and Administrator Association (Asosiasi Kurator & Pengurus Indonesia). Since 2019 he has been named to Asian Business Law Journal’s A-List of Indonesia’s Top 100 Lawyers.
