Korean law firm Bae, Kim & Lee (BKL) has opened an office in Yangon, Myanmar, its seventh globally, and its third outside of its home country.

The Yangon office will be led by partner Eric Eunyong Yang, who along with fellow partner Yong Geun Bae, joined the firm last year from Yulchon with the aim of launching an Indochina practice.

The Yangon office will provide advisory services on issues such as foreign investment, real estate development projects, M&A negotiations and licensing, and will assist Korean companies with their expansion in Myanmar.

Since last year, as part of its robust growth strategy, BKL has opened offices in Dubai, Hong Kong, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and now in Yangon. BKL also has offices in Beijing and Shanghai, which opened in 2002 and 2008, respectively.
