Singapore’s largest law firm Allen & Gledhill has opened an office in Vietnam, making it the second Big Four firm to have a physical presence in the latter country.

Located in Ho Chi Minh City, the new office is led by partner Oh Hsiu-Hau. It will provide clients with legal services in areas such as M&A, banking, finance, capital markets, corporate and commercial matters, energy, infrastructure and projects, and international arbitration.

“The establishment of Allen & Gledhill (Vietnam) is yet another milestone in our firm’s illustrious history and underlines our commitment to excellence as well as our unrelenting drive to provide our clients with the best business and legal advice throughout the region,” said Jerry Koh, joint managing partner of Allen & Gledhill.

In 2014, fellow Singapore Big Four firm Rajah & Tann established a presence in Vietnam following an association with local law firm LCT Lawyers. In the same year, RHTLaw, another Singaporean firm, entered into a tie-up with Vietnam's PBC Partners. In 2016, PBC merged with RHT to form RHTLaw Vietnam.

Allen & Gledhill currently also has an associate firm Rahmat Lim & Partners in Malaysia and an alliance firm Soemadipradja & Taher in Indonesia.
