Business priorities When asked about their top three priority tasks, the responses from the listed GBA in-house teams showed a strong focus on compliance management and risk control. All ten teams highlighted these areas, emphasizing that, in a shifting regulatory and economic landscape, stability is crucial for sustainable growth. As the legal and compliance module of Huizhou Desay SV Automotive notes: “With increasingly complex regulations and a stricter regulatory environment, companies must ensure their operations align with these requirements. Our team identifies potential legal risks promptly, assesses their impact on business, and provides actionable compliance recommendations.” Intellectual property (IP) ranked as the second priority, with five teams highlighting it. According to the World Intellectual Property Organization’s 2024 Global Innovation Index, the Shenzhen-Hong KongGuangzhou area is a major global innovation hub. Desay SV’s team states, “Global expansion brings more complex IP risks and competition. These teams span sectors like manufacturing, telecom, technology, finance, and consumer goods, reflecting the GBA’s industrial diversity. Many teams operate across Guangdong, Hong Kong SAR, and Macao SAR, navigating different legal systems. Their work focuses on cross-border compliance, IP protection, data compliance and cybersecurity, and export controls, which all key areas for the GBA.
