40 ASIAN LEGAL BUSINESS CHINA • 亚洲法律杂志-中国版 JULY 2023 ALB SHANGHAI IN-HOUSE LEGAL SUMMIT 2023 Over 200 in-house counsels, compliance officers, business elites and senior lawyers gathered at ALB Shanghai In-House Legal Summit 2023 on June 15 at Jing An Shangri-La to share the latest trends and challenges in legal practice of various industries. This is the 19th time that the flagship event came to Shanghai and attracted top professionals. The summit kicked off with a speech by Mr. Chen Hao, Executive Vice President of Shanghai Corporate Counsel Association. Chen was followed by a panel discussion under the topic “The Present and the Future - the Active Role of In-House Counsels and Lawyers in Business Development”. It was moderated by Fu Lianfang, Senior Partner at AllBright Law Offices. Fu was joined by Daphne Wang, Head of Global Business Legal at NIO, and Zhao Shen, General Counsel at CSIC Leasing (Tianjin) Co., Limited. They shared opinions about topics including their attitudes to tensed global situation, in-house legal counsels’ role in empowering companies at different stages of development, and whether AI will replace legal practitioners. The summit then ran parallel streams: Stream A and Stream B. Audiences in Stream A first heard presentations given by Tang Meng, Senior Partner from Joint-Win Partners and Sun Pinghui, Partner from the same firm.
