If AI shoulders supplementary tasks, and lawyers are able to focus more on specialised tasks, it shortens work time and improves quality to that extent. We should be able to provide a higher quality of legal services to clients than ever before. However, at the moment, there are not many AI solutions that have reached a practical level. We are already using it in the field of translation, but in other fields, we get the impression that it still has a long way to go in terms of performance. Going forward, we expect further development of AI in the fields of information research and organisation. Accuracy is an issue, but there are mistakes even in human-made sentences, so we think that it is a problem that lawyers can check and correct. On the other hand, there is a hurdle with regards to checking contracts, which has often become a topic of discussion. The Ministry of Justice has pointed out that AI may violate the Attorney Act for performing high-level checks on contracts.
