44 ASIAN LEGAL BUSINESS CHINA • 亚洲法律杂志-中国版 SEPTEMBER 2023 On August 18, 2023, the second ALB China Regional Law Awards 2023: East China ceremony was successfully held at the Andaz Xintiandi Shanghai Hotel. The final list of winners for the 2023 East China Law Awards was announced during the evening. The event saw the participation of over a hundred influential lawyers, in-house counsel, and business professionals from the legal market in East China. They enjoyed various activities such as cocktail receptions, ceremonies, and banquets. The legal community gathered to reflect on the challenges of the past year, celebrate outstanding achievements, encourage each other, and look forward to the future. The ALB China Regional Law Awards 2023: East China featured 28 award categories, with a total of 28 Chinese and international law firms receiving awards. Among local law firms, AllBright emerged as the biggest winner, receiving eight awards, while Hui Ye Law Firm received three awards. Among non-local firms, King & Wood Mallesons, Zhong Lun, and JunHe each received four awards. This year’s newly introduced awards included the “Compliance Law Firm of the Year,” which was awarded to Hui Ye and Zhong Lun; the “Rising Law Firm of the Year,” awarded to Merits & Tree Law ALB HOLDS GRAND GALA FOR THE SECOND YEAR TO CELEBRATE LEGAL ELITES IN EAST CHINA 2023 ALB中国区域市场法律大奖： 华东地区颁奖典礼成功举办 ALB CHINA REGIONAL LAW AWARDS 2023: EAST CHINA Offices; and the “Dispute Resolution Lawyer of the Year,” awarded to Guo Rui from AIIBright, and Wang Jianjian from King & Wood Mallesons Shanghai Office. In addition, new awards for law firms in Shandong, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang regions were awarded to Wincon Law Firm, Fadedongheng Law Firm, and T&C Law Firm, respectively. For the in-house categories, the “Innovative In-House Team of the Year” award went to Zippo China Legal Team. The “Compliance and Risk Management In-House Team of the Year “ award was received by the Legal & Risk Management Department of Lingong Heavy Machinery. The “In-House Team of the Year” award was presented to Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt’s Legal Department, and Ms. Cao Yanhua from the Legal and Compliance Team of Greenland Financial Technology Group won the “In-House Lawyer of the Year” award. This year marks the 20th anniversary of ALB’s presence in the Chinese legal market. ALB has been committed to supporting the China market, especially the vibrant regional legal markets, with localized teams, products, and services.
