Hemant Kumar, Group Legal Advisor, Larsen & Toubro Ltd.

Hemant Kumar, an LLB Gold Medalist, is Group Legal Advisor of Larsen & Toubro Ltd.  A seasoned legal professional with over 35 years of experience, he comes from a family of lawyers, corporate counsels and judges. 

Previously held senior positions at SBI, SAIL, JSW Steel, Reliance ADAG and Essar Group.  Was empaneled as a faculty with distinguished MBA & Engineering colleges. 

Nitin Bhuwania, General Counsel, Smartpaddle Technologies Pvt Ltd. ("Bizongo")

Nitin Bhuwania is dual qualified as LLB and Chartered Accountant and currently designated as General Counsel – Legal & Compliance at “Easebuzz”. As the General Counsel at Easebuzz, I lead the legal, strategy and compliance functions for a fast-growing fin-tech company that provides payment solutions and services to merchants and businesses.

He has over 15 years of remarkable experience in FitechConstruction funding, corporate law, compliance, taxation, and consulting, with a CA and LLB degree. He has been instrumental in leading large corporate transactions including group business restructuring activities, Acquisitions, Merger exercises as part of his assignments in various corporate houses. 

Niyati Ojha, Legal Counsel, HP India

Niyati Ojha is the Legal Counsel for HP India and has over 12 years of legal experience. She has been recognized as one of India’s “40 Under 40” lawyers and is a recipient of the prestigious President’s Club award. Her expertise includes leading high stakes matters, managing complex client relationships, and driving impactful business outcomes. A passionate advocate for education as a social cause, Niyati actively engages in teaching outside of work. With a commitment to leadership development, she continues to make significant contributions to the legal community while aspiring to create meaningful and lasting impact.

Parveen Mahtani, Chief Legal Officer, Mahindra Lifespaces

Parveen Mahtani is Chief Legal Officer, Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd., and a gold medalist in law. She has been acknowledged as one of “Asia’s Top 25 In-House Counsels” by the Asian Legal Business. Parveen has been honored as "Woman Leader in a Male Dominated Industry 2019" by Transformance Forums. She has also been featured among the top inhouse legal teams by Legal 500 UK: GC Powerlist: India (2017 and 2019). She also been honored as “Top 25 General Counsels in India” in 2018 by the ICCA in London. She has been featured in the books “Legal Luminaries”, “Constellations - The Shining stars in the Legal Fraternity” and “India’s Finest In-House Counsels”.

Priyanka Jain, Lead – Compliance, Vivriti Asset Management Pvt. Ltd.

Priyanka is a legal and compliance professional with over ten years of experience across the BFSI sector, spanning insurance, securities, and capital markets. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with senior leadership on strategic planning, product design, and risk management, while also liaising with regulators like IRDAI and SEBI. 

She is on OPCO Committee of Association of Portfolio Managers of India (APMI) and has been instrumental in advocating for regulatory reforms to enhance ease of doing business and product innovation.

Shilpi Jaiswal, General Counsel (India & South Asia) & Company Secretary, Ingenico International India Private Limited.

Shilpi Jaiswal brings in 15+ years of demonstrated excellence across strategic legal counsel, complex business transactions, compliance, corporate risk advisory across diverse industries and geographies. 

She has worked in unicorn startups and established organizations like Zeta (Directi Group), Pepperfry Ltd. and Axis Securities Ltd. (Subsidiary of Axis Bank), French MNC like Ingenico

With LLM in Corporate Law (second in university) and a Company Secretary qualification (cleared on the first attempt), she regularly shares insights through guest lectures at institutions like Xavier’s Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai (XIMR) covering mergers, acquisitions, and IPOs. 

Somya Agarwal, General Counsel &Company Secretary, Fractal Analytics

Somya Agarwal is an award-winning General Counsel with over two decades of specialized experience in legal strategy, governance, and compliance. Her expertise spans structuring and negotiating complex private equity fundraise transactions, acquisitions, mergers, and corporate restructurings. She has led the development of Responsible AI policies, global compliance frameworks, and has deep knowledge of intellectual property and data privacy laws across multiple jurisdictions.

Currently, Somya serves as the Group General Counsel & Company Secretary at Fractal Analytics. Under her stewardship, Fractal secured significant investments, including $200 million from Apax Partners and $360 million from TPG Capital, cementing the company’s Unicorn status. She has also driven high-stakes acquisitions like Samya.ai and Neal Analytics, and steered strategic investments in Senseforth.ai and Analytics Vidhya. Somya is particularly recognized for her innovative approach to automating Contracts and Compliance management across 18+ jurisdictions, and for her work on equity financing and spinouts, notably Qure.ai and Theremin.ai.

Her legal career includes significant roles at the TATA-Pepsi Joint Venture startup, global advertising powerhouse Publicis, and the Taj Group of Hotels. She has been pivotal in shaping growth strategies at SAIC, a US multinational, and has extensive multicultural experience across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

A Gold Medalist and All India rank holder in B.Com, LLB, and CS exams, Somya’s academic credentials are as distinguished as her professional achievements. In addition to her legal acumen, she is a certified Heartfulness meditation trainer and an active columnist, sharing insights in leading newspapers and digital platforms.
