Dentons Lee, Dentons’ law firm in South Korea, has hired insurance and reinsurance specialists John JungKyum Kim (L) and Christina Jiwon Park as co-heads of its new insurance and reinsurance practice. They also serve as partners in the firm’s international disputes resolution team.

Having more than 20 years of experience, with focus on the insurance and reinsurance industry, Kim has worked in in-house roles at AIG, Reliance National Insurance, Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance. He also spent time at law firms Kim & Chang, Lee & Ko, and Shin & Kim. He advises insurers, reinsurers, brokers, agents and other insurance market participants.

Joining from South Korean reinsurance giant Korean Re, Park specialises in finance, insurance and reinsurance, and dispute resolution in the South Korean courts, along with commercial litigation, mediation and arbitration related to financial transactions. She was previously a senior legal counsel at Korea Development Bank, and prior to that at law firm Yulchon.

Dentons Lee was set up in 2019 through a combination between Dentons and Lee International.
