Offshore firm, Harneys, has expanded its litigation and restructuring practice in Asia with the appointment of Julie Engwirda as partner in the Hong Kong office from rival firm Travers Thorp Alberga where she was a partner.

Engwirda is well-versed in litigation, restructuring and insolvency procedures. She also has experience in complex cross-border commercial litigation and distressed funds, having advised on matters involving fraud, shareholder disputes, trust disputes, regulatory and compliance issues, among others.

Prior to her tenure at Travers Thorp Alberga, Engwirda was a partner at Walkers where she worked for more than a decade.

With the appointment of Engwirda, Harneys’ Hong Kong team has 52 lawyers which include 12 partners.
