Global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has expanded its energy capabilities in Singapore with the addition of former White & Case counsel Ee Lynn Tan as a partner.

Tan advises international sponsors, financial institutions and investors at all stages of energy projects and investments, with experience across Asia and the Middle East. She advises across the project lifecycle, acting for energy sector clients from early-stage joint venture arrangements, through to negotiations of multi-source project financing, and related M&A transactions.

Tan has been a counsel at White & Case’s Singapore office for over eight years, before which she practiced in Australia at MinterEllison, Hall & Wilcox, and Brian Ward & Partners.

HSF has more than 60 partners across the Asia-Pacific region who help clients with environmental, sustainability, energy transition, climate infrastructure, and ESG work.

Last year, the firm added two King & Spalding energy partners, with Lachlan Clancy joining in Tokyo and Anthony Patten joining in Singapore.

HSF has grown across Asia in 2024 as well, with new partner hires in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Bangkok.
