Eight lawyers have moved from Atlas Asia Law Corporation (AALC), EY’s Singapore law firm, to Dentons Rodyk. Three have joined as senior partner or partner: AALC founder and former Dentons Rodyk senior partner Evelyn Ang, and directors Glenda Lee – also previously of Dentons Rodyk – and Emily Low.

Ang left Dentons Rodyk in 2018 to set up AALC, and she was joined soon after by fellow Dentons Rodyk lawyers Lee and Kenneth Cheow, and in 2019 by Chan Wan Hong and Desiree Lee. Low was hired as a director in 2020 from fintech company Liquid Group, where she was general counsel. Desiree Lee left AALC in November last year to join Singapore investment company EDBI in an in-house role.

The AALC website currently lists Cheow as the sole director.

Ang, who rejoins Dentons Rodyk as a senior partner, is experienced in M&A, public take-overs, corporate restructuring and delisting. Her first stint at the firm commenced in 2010, prior to which she worked at the legacy Arfat Selvam & Gunasingham, Allen & Gledhill, and Shook Lin & Bok.

Low, who also joins as senior partner, advises on forming funds, including private equity, hedge funds, real estate and infrastructure funds as well as hybrid structured funds and platforms. Apart from her roles at AALC and the Liquid Group, Low was also a partner at law firms Allen & Gledhill and White & Case, and a director at UBS.

Meanwhile, Glenda Lee, who returns to Dentons Rodyk as partner, is experienced in M&A and corporate finance and advises private equity and venture capital investments, joint venture, corporate restructuring, regulatory and compliance and other corporate issues.

Joining the three partners on the move to Dentons Rodyk are senior associates Ng Xin Lei and Claire Tan, and associates Rachel Tan, Ko Yuen Hyung and Joey Tam.
