Global law firm DLA Piper has expanded its banking and finance offering with the addition of Soumitro Mukerji as a partner in its Singapore office.

Mukerji, who joined Mayer Brown from Hogan Lovells Lee & Lee in 2022, advises funds, banks, financial institutions, corporates and financial advisors in Asia and Europe on fund financings, sponsor-backed financings, structured lending, limited recourse financings, and corporate lending.

With expertise in fund finance across all asset classes, he has advised on fund finance matters exceeding $8 billion in value since 2019. Mukerji previously worked at Linklaters and the legacy Amarchand Mangaldas.

"As a key market and hub for Southeast Asia, building out our finance bench in Singapore has been a long-term strategic goal,” said Satpal Gobindpuri, regional managing partner for DLA Piper in Asia, in a statement.

The firm now has 23 lawyers in Singapore, including 12 partners. A few months ago, the office lost corporate partners David Kuo and Meraj Noor to K&L Gates Straits Law.
