U.S. law firm Sterlington has hired prominent aviation lawyer Paul Jebely as partner and international vice-chair. Jebely, who is based in Hong Kong, joins from Withers where he was the global head of aviation.

An expert in advising on private aviation for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, Jebely has advised on approximately $23 billion of aircraft transactions. Apart from mergers and acquisitions, he also focuses on restructuring and dispute resolution in the aviation space.

Jebely's appointment comes after a series of roles at major international law firms. He joined Withers in 2022 after previously helping launch Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman's Hong Kong office in 2016, and has also held leadership positions at Clyde & Co and Ashurst.

"We are thrilled to welcome Paul to Sterlington as we continue to build our global aviation and private wealth practices,” said Christopher S. Harrison, founding partner and CEO of Sterlington, in a statement. “His expertise and leadership in aviation law will further enhance our ability to serve our clients at the highest level while his appointment as international vice chair marks an exciting new chapter as we expand our global reach."

In addition to his legal practice, Jebely chairs The Hague Court of Arbitration for Aviation, an institution he founded to address dispute resolution in the global aviation industry.
