Hogan Lovells has boosted its international arbitration practice with the hire of James Kwan as a partner in Hong Kong.

Kwan specialises in commercial arbitration across a range of sectors including energy, infrastructure, technology and healthcare. He has handled arbitrations under the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, Singapore International Arbitration Centre and International Chamber of Commerce rules, among others.

Kwan joins Hogan Lovells from Baker & McKenzie, where he was a partner and head of the firm’s Hong Kong international arbitration practice.

“With investment and trade rising in Asia as a result of globalisation, international arbitration is an increasingly important disputes resolution practice for companies doing business in the region,” said Hogan Lovells partner Timothy Hill, in a statement.
