SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan (SyCipLaw), the Philippines’ second-largest law firm, has named Hector de Leon, Jr. as the firm’s new managing partner. He succeeds Rafael A. Morales, who retired in March.

De Leon, Jr.’s practice focuses on corporate and commercial matters, with emphasis on equity investments, M&A, project development and finance, and similar commercial transactions. He joined SyCipLaw in 1988 and has been a member of the firm’s executive committee since 2014.

He is also a lecturer at the University of the Philippines College of Law.
