Anglo-American law firm DLA Piper has hired Tony Andriotis as the head of its international arbitration practice in Japan from the Tokyo office of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan.

Andriotis specialises in cross-border litigation, international regulatory work, mediation and bankruptcy. He appears in JCAA, ICC, SIAC and ICDR arbitrations, and has represented clients in the manufacturing and industrial sectors.

Prior to joining Quinn Emanuel in March 2019, Andriotis spent nearly 12 years at U.S. law firm Hughes Hubbard & Reed in both New York and Tokyo. This included a four-year secondment at Nishimura & Asahi. From July 2014 onwards, Andriotis was Hughes Hubbard’s sole full-time Japan-based representative.

Andriotis’ arrival takes the number of partners in DLA Piper’s Tokyo office to eight.
