Indian law firm IndusLaw has hired corporate/M&A expert Amrit Mehta as a partner in Mumbai from Majmudar & Partners.

Mehta is IndusLaw’s third lateral partner hire this year, and its second in Mumbai. The firm added disputes partners Maneesha Kongovi in Bengaluru from Argus Partners in May, and Soura Subha Ghosh in Mumbai from Hariani & Co in March. IndusLaw also acquired South Indian boutique ASLF, led by partner Anup S Shah, in March.

With more than 14 years of experience in corporate and M&A as well as insurance and employment matters, Mehta advises clients on domestic and cross-border acquisitions, joint ventures, and foreign direct investment.

Mehta worked with Majmudar & Partners for more than 11 years, becoming a partner in 2019. He started his career at the erstwhile Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff & Co.

His addition brings the number of Mumbai-based partners at IndusLaw to 13.
