Amarchand Mangaldas has hired Sandip Beri, most recently General Counsel for South Asia with Citibank, as a partner at its New Delhi office.

With more than 27 years of experience, Beri has worked for Sidley Austin in Chicago, and also worked in-house with GE Capital in India and the U.S. He has experience in corporate and securities, mergers and acquisitions, banking and structured finance, private equity, government relations and regulatory compliance.

“As a senior resource at the firm, Sandip will bring to bear his experience to mentor other partners in expanding the regulatory and banking practice, the GC practice by engaging his skills developed while holding in-house positions, and for complex M&A cross-border transactions,” said Shardul Shroff, Amarchand’s New Delhi managing partner, in a statement.

Beri’s arrival takes the total number of partners at Amarchand to 84.
