India‘s Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas has hired Akila Agrawal in New Delhi as the head of its M&A practice from national rival Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas.

Agrawal spent seven years at the legacy now-defunct Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co. In 2015, after that firm split into CAM and SAM, Agrawal moved to the latter.

With over 19 years of experience, Agrawal’s areas of focus are M&A, joint ventures, corporate restructuring, general corporate and employment law. She is experienced in handling matters pertaining to acquisitions, disposals, takeover offers, delisting offers, commercial contracts and SEBI-related issues.

The appointment of Agrawal continues the trend of the partner-level lateral movements between CAM and SAM. Recently, corporate partner Mukul Sharma moved from SAM to CAM, while corporate partner Nivedita Tiwari moved in the other direction.
