Ashurst has hired debt capital markets specialist Jini Lee from Linklaters as a partner in the firm’s securities and derivatives practice in Hong Kong.

Lee advises both issuers and underwriters on debt-related work including bond and note issuances, as well as equity-linked transactions.

Lee joins Ashurst from Linklaters, where she was a managing associate in the Hong Kong office.

“The continued growth of the offshore RMB bond market and the need for China to diversify away from domestic funding for outbound M&A activities means that DCM is a growth area. Jini has significant experience of advising many of the leading banks for China-based DCM work as well as the most active corporate issuers in the market,” said Paul Jenkins, co-head of Ashurst’s finance division, in a statement.

“Her appointment complements the recent hire of Chin Chuan Chen and his team in Beijing, which will give us an even stronger offering to Chinese banks and international banks operating in China.”

With the addition of Lee, Ashurst now has 16 partners in its Hong Kong office.
