India’s AZB & Partners has hired Nikunj Maheshwari as a partner in its banking and finance practice Mumbai from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.

Maheshwari was at the legacy Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff & Co until 2014, when the firm split into its two present avatars. He joined CAM as a principal associate, moving up the ranks to become a partner in September last year.

With a client base that includes banks, financial institutions and corporates, Maheshwari advises on matters including structured finance, cross-border financing structures and stressed assets resolution.

Maheshwari’s addition comes shortly after the Mumbai office of AZB lost corporate partner Harsh Maggon to Trilegal.
