Bird & Bird has hired corporate partner Ken Cheung from Berwin Leighton Paisner in Singapore.

Cheung specialises in M&A, investment and private equity, with a core focus on the corporate energy sector. He advises on corporate matters primarily in Southeast Asia.

Cheung also advises clients in other sectors including insurance, IT, media and transport.

Prior to joining Bird & Bird, Cheung was a partner in Berwin Leighton Paisner’s Singapore office.

The appointment of Cheung closely follows the hires of capital markets partner Wing On Chui in Hong Kong in February, antitrust partner Zhaofeng Zhou in Beijing in January, and employment partner Seow Hui Goh in Singapore last December.
