Korean law firm Bae, Kim & Lee (BKL) has appointed Sung Jin Kim as its new managing partner. Kim succeeds Yong-Hyeon Kang, with his three-year term scheduled to commence from Jan. 1, 2015.

Kim has been a member of the firm’s Construction and Real Estate Arbitration group since 1989. He is also a member of the 15th Class of the Judicial Research & Training Institute, and the chairman of the Central Construction Dispute Resolution Committee at the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and a non-standing member of the Central Land Tribunal under the same ministry. Kim served as judge advocate in the military before joining BKL.

The firm has also named Wee Soo Han and Keun Byung Lee, members of the 12th Class and 14th Class of the Judicial Research & Training Institute, respectively, as representative attorneys.

Han has been with the firm since 2008 and his practice focuses on tax and administrative litigation, while Lee joined in 1987 and specialises in finance and capital markets.
