Clifford Chance has named Geraint Hughes as the new regional managing partner of its nine Asia Pacific offices, spanning Greater China, North and South East Asia and Australia.
Hughes will take up his new position in September this year. He will replace Peter Charlton, who will return to the UK after eight years in the role.
Hughes has been managing partner of Clifford Chance’s Singapore office since 2010, during which the firm doubled its size in the city-state, and entered into a formal law alliance with Cavenagh Law.
"Under Geraint's future leadership, we will continue our commitment to build upon our position as the leading international firm in Asia Pacific and will continue to invest to ensure our clients have access to the best platform with the greatest breadth and depth that any firm can offer,” said Matthew Layton, managing partner of Clifford Chance, in a statement.
