New Zealand firm Chapman Tripp has promoted a new partner and added two new senior associates  through internal promotion and lateral recruitment.

New Auckland-based partner Cathryn Barber specialises in banking and finance law and has particular expertise in corporate finance, syndications and property finance.  She acts for both borrowers and lenders on a range of financing transactions, helping them develop innovative funding structures as well as navigate the increasing regulation in the finance sector. Prior to joining Chapman Tripp she was at Duncan Cotterill.

New senior associate Jarrod Murphy is also based in Auckland and specialises in corporate and commercial law, while Wellington-based senior associate Vivian Cheng specialises in tax and has joined the firm from Minter Ellison Rudd Watts.

Chapman Tripp now has 53 partners, 34 senior associates and more than 140 legal staff.
