Clifford Chance is relocating partner Kathy Honeywood from London to Singapore, where she will head the firm’s Southeast Asia corporate practice.

Honeywood will replace Simon Clinton, who will relocate to London later this year. Clinton will continue working with Asia-Pacific clients, and leading the firm's sovereign wealth sector team.

Honeywood specialises in corporate finance, M&A and joint ventures. Her Asia-Pacific experience includes advising Shell on its $2.6 billion disposal of downstream assets in Australia, and Chinalco on its $19.5 billion strategic partnership with Rio Tinto and their proposed acquisition of Las Bambas from Glencore Xstrata.

“We are delighted to welcome Kathy back to the region. She is one of the most well respected practitioners globally in her field, and her breadth of experience combined with her leadership skills make her ideally suited to head our growing practice," said Geraint Hughes, Clifford Chance’s Singapore managing partner, in a statement.

Recent Southeast Asia deals for Clifford Chance have included counseling Mondelez on its proposed acquisition of a 80 percent stake in Vietnamese snack company Kinh Do for $370 million and Sime Darby on its $1.74 billion cash offer for New Britain Palm Oil Limited.
