Nabarro has hired Steven Lim, managing director of Clyde & Co’s Singapore joint law venture (JLV) firm Clasis, as the head of its office in the city-state. The firm has hinted that with the hire, it is considering its own JLV as well.

In November last year, Nabarro lost its previous office head, Emerson Holmes, to Jones Day.

Lim, who specialises in international dispute resolution and arbitration, will concentrate on Nabarro’s infrastructure, construction and energy practice as well. His work is focused on a range of commercial disputes including energy, oil and gas, engineering, construction and infrastructure.

In a statement, Nabarro said that Lim’s time at Clyde & Co Clasis means that “he has experience of building successful JLVs in Singapore. This will prove an asset as Nabarro looks to develop its own relationship with a Singapore law practice to complement its regional platform in the Asia Pacific legal hub.”
