Dentons has hired construction specialist Ian Dalley as a partner in its Abu Dhabi office from DLA Piper, where Dalley served as legal director.

Dalley specialises in international engineering projects and related matters such as joint ventures, public procurement, inward investment, long-term supply agreements and concessions. He handles both contentious and non-contentious work across industry sectors including oil and gas, petrochemical, transport infrastructure, manufacturing, power, construction and district cooling. He has been involved in ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, ICSID, DIAC and ADCCAC arbitrations, and is a practising international arbitrator.

“Ian's extensive skill set and depth of experience in the region will not only add considerable strength to our market-leading construction practice, but also serve to enhance the work we do for our clients in other areas such as corporate, employment, IP and real estate,” said Michael Kerr, Middle East managing partner at Dentons. “While he will be based in Abu Dhabi, Ian will provide valuable support to the work we do across the Middle East and beyond.”
