Shanghai-headquartered Fangda Partners has launched an office in Singapore with the addition of M&A partner Ivy Liu from Watson Farley & Williams.

Fangda’s Singapore office is its first branch outside Greater China and its seventh overall, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

Liu has practiced law for over ten years, specializing in advising China and Southeast Asia-based clients on cross-border transactions with a focus on M&A in Thailand and Vietnam markets.

Prior to joining Fangda, Liu has spent four years at Watson Farley & Williams and five years at DFDL. She also had an in-house stint at World Logistics Services Corporation and has been an attorney at King & Wood Mallesons.

Before establishing an office in Singapore, the firm’s dispute resolution branch - Fangda International Arbitration - has been operating at the Singapore international arbitration facility Maxwell Chambers for years.

Over the past few years, several PRC firms have set up offices in Singapore, including Han Kun Law Offices in 2023 and AllBright Law Offices in 2021.
