PRC firm Haiwen & Partners has added yet another partner in its Beijing and Hong Kong offices after hiring M&A expert Fu Duan from Chinese tech giant Alibaba.

With more than 15 years of legal practice experience, Fu focuses on cross-border mergers and acquisitions and investment and financing, especially private equity investments and mergers and acquisitions involving U.S. and Hong Kong-listed companies.

In a press release, Haiwen said that the addition of Fu would further strengthen the firm’s comprehensive strength in cross-border M&A and investment and financing, as well as the breadth and depth of its related professional services.

Fu’s hire comes about two months after Haiwen hired projects partners Hallam Chow and Shen Boya from Mayer Brown. Before that, in July, the PRC firm nabbed Hong Kong capital market veterans Tom Chau, Wang Zhong, and Isaac Chen as partners from Herbert Smith Freehills.
