Holman Fenwick Willan has hired a team of seven asset finance specialists from Berwin Leighton Paisner in Asia, including partners David Brotherton and Justin Sun, as the firm looks to boost its aviation finance offering in the region.

Brotherton and Sun, based in Singapore and Hong Kong, respectively, focus on advising financiers, lessors, owners and operators on matters such as aircraft finance, sale and leaseback, loan agreements, cross-border leasing, project finance as well as structured finance transactions (including syndicated and structured debt financing). In addition, they have also acted on several Islamic finance transactions.

HFW’s hiring of this team comes as the firm has been investing considerably in its international finance capability. “We are delighted to welcome David, Justin and their associates to our international aviation practice. Their aviation and asset finance experience further strengthens our existing practice and enables us to provide clients with local expertise supported by a global team, something we know our clients value,” said Giles Kavanagh, head of HFW's aviation practice, in a statement.
