Berwin Leighton Paisner has added private-client and family attorney Marcus Dearle as a partner in Hong Kong from Withers.

Dearle represents high-profile Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) individuals and families on all aspects of private wealth. His work includes asset protection through international trusts/corporate structures as well as the commercial interests of private capital including multi-jurisdictional pre-nuptial agreements and cross-border matrimonial litigation. In addition, he advises trustees in international trust cases.

Dearle relocated to Hong Kong from London in 2009 to take charge of developing Withers’ family law practice, and was eventually appointed office managing director for both the Hong Kong and Singapore offices. During that time, he represented solicitor Florence Tsang in her divorce from property tycoon Samathur Li Kin-kan, resulting in the highest ever litigated divorce award in Hong Kong history.

At BLP, Dearle is expected to form an asset protection team and will join the global private client practice group in Hong Kong.
