Kirkland & Ellis has hired Daniel Dusek as a corporate partner in Hong Kong from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

Dusek advises on M&A, private equity and a wide range of complex and cross-border corporate matters. Among the notable deals he was involved in while at Skadden was Anbang’s $13.2 billion bid for Starwood Hotels last year and Qihoo’s $9.3 billion buyout deal in 2015.

In addition, Dusek was named as one of the top 10 M&A lawyers in China by ALB this year.

In March, Dominic Tsun, a senior partner at K&E’s Hong Kong office who also came from Skadden, left the firm after a nearly six-year stint.
