Paul Hastings has hired capital markets expert Peter Cheng as a partner in Hong Kong from Deacons, the city’s largest local firm.

With nearly nine years of experience, Cheng focuses on Hong Kong IPOs, Hong Kong listing regulations, and M&A and private equity investments in primarily the technology, media and telecom sectors.

Cheng joined Deacons in 2018 from Davis Polk & Wardwell, where he spent about four years.

With this addition, Paul Hastings now has nine partners in Hong Kong.
