Hogan Lovells has appointed Miguel Zaldivar, the co-leader of its Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Projects (IERP) practice, as its new chief executive for the Asia-Pacific and Middle East region.

Zaldivar, a partner who moved from Miami to Hong Kong to take up the role, replaces the recently retired Patrick Sherrington. Sherrington had been in the post since 2013.

Having joined Hogan Lovells in 2002, Zaldivar also serves on the firm’s global board of directors. He specialises in project development and finance and sovereign debt, and has experience in cross-border corporate transactions.
